How to play Pickleball?

Pickleball is a fun and fast-paced paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. Hereโ€™s a simple guide to get started:

Objective:

The goal is to hit the ball over the net and score points by making it land in the opponentโ€™s court without them returning it properly.

Basic Rules:

โœ… Serving:

  • Serve underhand and below the waist.
  • The serve must be diagonal, landing in the opposite service court.
  • The ball must clear the non-volley zone (the “kitchen”).

โœ… Double Bounce Rule:

  • The ball must bounce once on each side before volleys (hitting in the air) are allowed.

โœ… Non-Volley Zone (“The Kitchen”):

  • You cannot volley (hit the ball in the air) while standing in the kitchen.
  • You can step in to hit a ball after it bounces.

โœ… Scoring:

  • Only the serving team can score points.
  • Games are typically played to 11, 15, or 21 points (win by at least 2 points).

โœ… Doubles vs. Singles:

  • In doubles, each player gets a chance to serve before the other team takes over.
  • In singles, service switches sides after a point is lost.

Equipment Needed:

  • Paddle: Similar to a large ping pong paddle.
  • Ball: Plastic with holes, like a wiffle ball.
  • Court: 20×44 feet (same as a badminton court).

How to Win?

Use strategyโ€”soft shots, lobs, and quick reactions are key!

Keep the ball in play and force your opponent to make mistakes.

Stay out of the kitchen unless hitting a bounced ball.
